Wrapped in faith

This charcoal and graphite artwork presents a powerful portrait of surrender, resilience, and inner strength. The figure is shown with eyes gently covered by a flowing cloth, symbolising a conscious choice to let go of control and trust the unseen. The blindfold is rendered with delicate tonal transitions, creating a soft contrast against the strong, sculpted features of the face. The subtle parting of the lips conveys vulnerability and quiet endurance, while the upright posture reflects dignity and courage in the face of adversity. Layered textures in the graphite bring depth to the skin, fabric, and shadows, evoking both physical fragility and emotional weight. Adorning the neck is an intricate arrangement of pearls and ornamental elements, representing life’s accumulated experiences—pain, healing, and perseverance—each carried with grace. The monochromatic palette enhances the emotional intensity, allowing light and shadow to speak of introspection, faith, and acceptance. This artwork stands as a visual meditation on surrender—not as weakness, but as strength—inviting viewers to reflect on trust, healing, and the quiet power of choosing faith over fear.
